Modern Slavery & Ethical Sourcing Statement

This statement sets out where Wolf & Coat stands on modern slavery and ethical sourcing. It also covers what we expect of the companies that make our products, and how anyone can tell us about a concern.

Why we publish this statement

Wolf & Coat is a small business. We are not required to publish a statement under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 or the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act. We publish this one voluntarily, because the people who buy from us should be able to see where we stand.

Our business and supply chain

We sell men's outerwear online to customers in the United States and Canada. We do not make our products ourselves. They are made by third-party manufacturers.

Clothing supply chains are long, and the risk of forced labor and child labor in the clothing industry is well known. We do not see every stage of how our products are made. That is why we set out our expectations plainly and act on what we learn.

Our position

We have zero tolerance for forced labor, bonded labor, human trafficking and child labor anywhere in our supply chain. We will not knowingly sell products made this way.

What we expect of our suppliers

We expect every manufacturer and supplier we work with to:

  • Employ only people who have chosen to work freely and who are free to leave with reasonable notice
  • Never hold back workers' identity documents, wages or deposits
  • Never charge workers fees to get or keep a job
  • Never employ anyone under the legal minimum working age
  • Pay at least the legal minimum wage, on time, and keep working hours within legal limits
  • Provide safe and healthy working conditions
  • Treat every worker with dignity, free from harassment, abuse or threats
  • Hold their own suppliers and subcontractors to the same standards
  • Tell us promptly if they find a problem

Our commitments

We commit to:

  • Make these expectations clear to the suppliers we work with
  • Ask questions when something does not look right
  • Take every concern seriously and look into it
  • Say only what we can stand behind in this statement

If we learn of a breach

If we learn that a supplier uses forced, bonded, trafficked or child labor, we will stop working with that supplier. The same applies to any other serious breach of the expectations above.

How to report a concern

You can raise a concern whether you work in our supply chain, supply us, buy from us or simply know something we should hear. Email support@wolfandcoat.com with the subject line "Supply chain concern".

Tell us what you know, including the product, company or workplace involved if you can. We read every report and look into it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle the personal information you send us.

Reviewing this statement

We review this statement every year and update it when our business or our suppliers change.
